Meet Asuka
Asuka (sounds like “Oss-ka”) is a quiet, gentle and curious girl. She’s going to be at your next appointment.
You do not need to interact with her. However, if you’d like to say hi, here’s some more information to help you have a successful and enjoyable interaction.
-
Asuka is a 5-year old husky mix. Specifically, she is 71% Siberian Husky, 14% Alaskan Malamute, 9% Samoyed, 6% German Shepard Dog. She weighs about 51 lbs and is all white with amber eyes. My husband and I adopted her from PAWS in October 2024. She’s our first dog.
-
Allow her come to you on her own terms. When she comes over give her a minute to sniff you first. She likes to be pet on the front of her chest, her shoulders and her back, but not so much on the top of her head. Please avoid reaching over her head and bringing your face close to hers. Give her a chance to move away from you. I usually do pet-pet-pet, take my hands away for a few seconds in case she wasn’t to leave, then pet-pet-pet, repeat. She LOVES cookies — you can give her one from her cookie jar.
-
Asuka is always learning how to be a good girl in the office. You can help her be successful by staying calm, speaking to her softly, and petting her gently. Sometimes ignoring her can help her settle. Thanks for understanding that there may be times when I need to give her some guidance while you’re here, which could interrupt our session for a few seconds.
-
I do not want Asuka to be the reason you did not enjoy your session, so if for some reason she is disruptive, you have the choice of ending the session early and paying only for the time you used.
Here’s what to expect during your session.
Arrival
Asuka will always be on her designated place when you arrive. You don’t have to say hi, but if you’d like to, I’ll release her from her place so she can come see you.
Intake
Asuka can return to her designated place or roam around the room while we chat about what you’re experiencing and how you’d like to use your time. She’ll leave the room with me while you get on the table.
Massage
Asuka will follow me back into the room and go to her designated place while you’re on the table. You might hear her shift around and sigh. She usually dozes off. If she needs some guidance, I may have to stop the massage for a moment to tend to her.
Post-massage
Asuka will follow me back into the room. Again, she can go back to her designated place or roam around the room while I collect payment. Before leaving, you can give her a cookie (provided) if you wish.
