What to Expect

10-minute intake

I schedule 10 additional minutes at the beginning of every appointment to discuss what you’re experiencing, how you expect to benefit from massage, and how I can make you comfortable while you’re here. We’ll plan a session together that takes into account any modifications we need to make for your comfort and safety. Intake time does not reduce your massage time unless we need more than 10 minutes to discuss.

No chit-chat from me

Once the session has started I won’t interrupt you with chit-chat. However, I will say something if I want to request input or offer a change for your or my comfort and safety.

Comfort and safety

Help me understand how I can help you find comfort and safety in my treatment room.

I start and end on time

I’m good at being ready to start on time, and ending on time. When I’d like to offer you a few extra minutes of time (due to interruptions, etc.) I will ask your permission to go over. If I’m ready to start before our appointment begins, and you’ve arrived, I will give you the choice to settle in the waiting room or get started early.

My room isn’t sound proof

Our wall neighbors are David and Katie, and they run businesses of their own. Noise is usually very minimal, but if you’re having trouble tuning something out please ask for earplugs, or for a change in music.

I do not accept gratuity

As an independent business owner I know the cost of running my business and the income I want to make from it, and set my prices accordingly.

I invite you to give me feedback

I am open to receiving your feedback before, during or after a session.
