The short version: People kept telling me “you have good hands”, so I became a massage therapist. The long version: I’ve always been interested in biology, in fact I have a master’s degree in science and 10 years experience in the field of wildlife biology. Looking for a change, I ended up working as a team leader at an outdoor retail store, and seasonally as a sea-kayaking instructor and guide. I started taking yoga classes, and keen to deepen my practice enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training. I took it all in, but the technical aspects were what really clicked for me. I loved memorizing anatomy, and learning about the planes of motion. As I got better at tuning into my body I noticed that things were coming up for me. I got curious about other ways to tune into my body and started getting massages. I loved getting massages! So, I enrolled in a 24 month massage therapy program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. It was a great fit; client care was enjoyable and fulfilling. Fast forward to present day. I have a successful solo practice on the Edmonds waterfront.I’m still growing as a massage therapist. I work with people who value the work that I do. I’m so happy to be doing this.
